Álvaro Pascual-Leone, MD, PhD, is a neurology professor at Harvard Medical School. He’s the Chief Scientist at the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research and the Medical Director of the Deanna and Sidney Wolk Center for Memory Health at Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL) in Boston, MA.
He also serves as the Scientific Director and Advisor for the Barcelona Brain Health Initiative and the Guttmann Institute for Brain Health in Barcelona, Spain.
One of Dr. Pascual-Leone’s key focuses in his scientific work is understanding and promoting lifelong brain health, preventing age-related cognitive decline, and reducing disability in patients with neuropsychiatric disorders while uncovering critical insights into human brain function. He has authored over 800 peer-reviewed scientific articles. Thomson Reuters has recognized him as one of the top 15 neuroscientists worldwide and one of the ‘Most Influential Scientific Minds in the World.’ He has been honored with numerous international awards and is an elected member of the Royal Spanish Academy of Pharmacy.
Dr. Pascual-Leone continues to practice as a cognitive neurologist and dementia specialist, emphasizing comprehensive, patient-centered, and personalized care, along with providing multidisciplinary and holistic support for individuals dealing with cognitive impairment, their families, and caregivers.
